Terms & Privacy Stuff

We’re so glad you’re here! With that said, please know that while we promise to do our best to give heartfelt advice and keep information relevant, you take full responsibility for any action you take upon consumption of our website. We are not liable for anything that happens while our website is in use.

Some other fun stuff – in terms of private information, we really only collect your name and/or email when you subscribe or choose to make a comment.

However, we do also collect some other information automatically sent to us by your browser, as well as information about your usage of the site. The links that are clicked on, the pages that are viewed, and time spent on the site are some of the usage statistics and information used in composing website analytics and reports that help us measure the usefulness of our site. One of the pieces of data automatically sent to us is your IP address. Your IP address is an internet protocol address number automatically assigned to you when you’re using the internet. It is logged by our servers and is used to provide web-related services for you, and analytics to us (which helps us make decisions on how to improve our website).

On occasion, some of our posts may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: automattic.com/privacy.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
